Have you checked out the October 2008 issue of Domino Magazine? You should. Imagine this: it features a Decorating Mini Guide on Wall To Wall Carpet! How cool is that?
I have to believe that the carpet roll Elizabeth described is becoming an undeniable design style trend!
The article describes carpet as "cozy and inviting." Further, it's "poised for a comeback. It disguises unattractive floors, muffles sounds and visually expands any space - all while making a strong style statement."
In addition to offering sound styling tips, the article displays three very attractive carpeted room scenes - one with a strong graphic pattern - and 13 carpet swatches showcasing a range of carpet patterns, styles, constructions and fiber types.
Of those 13 swatches, two of them are made with Wear-Dated carpet fiber.... both on page 56. [Note: both products also feature Scotchgard Protector Advanced Repel Technology from 3M.]
+ Babailov in Sugared Plum from Karastan
+ Rosewood in Slate from Wunda Weve.
Babailov represents a thick textured carpet construction with a rich palette of colors. Per the official Karastan description, "Karastan™ is consumed by the importance of detail, just like Igor Babailov, the master artist whose contemporary works can be found and are celebrated all over the world. The popular textured style Babailov™ is so perfectly crafted ... that is certain to be a natural fit on the floor of your home and provide years of beauty and comfort for your family. The Babailov™ color palette contains many distinct selections that will supplement whatever design it finds itself placed into."
Rosewood captures a delicious construction style with visual and tactile interest. It's not quite accurately described in Domino which states that it is a "loop pile recycled nylon." However, that doesn't take an ounce away from its beauty.
Here's its official description: "Rosewood - The earthy texture makes a home inviting. Two levels of solid color loops work together to create a random arrangement of textural striations. Sixteen shades - as soft and alluring as Rosewood's patterning - make it easy to complement your every decor. Best of all, it's made with Wear-Dated Natural Nylon with Scotchgard Protector Advanced Repel Technology making it easy to clean, durable and long lasting."
I'm delighted with the wide range of patterns and styles of carpet featured in this Domino mini decorating guide. They take the concept of 'fashion for the floor' to new level and are sure to spark stylish carpet ideas for your home.
